Welcome to MoneyMap (“the App”), published and maintained by WidgetTree (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By downloading, accessing, or using MoneyMap, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not install or use the App.
1. Description of Service & Architecture
MoneyMap is a local-first personal finance tracking and wealth management mobile application. Unlike traditional cloud services:
- MoneyMap does not require you to create an account on WidgetTree servers.
- All financial transaction data, account entries, budgets, and portfolio assets are stored locally on your device or in your personal Google Drive account.
- WidgetTree does not operate remote databases storing your personal financial balances or transaction history.
2. User Responsibilities & Data Control
Because your data is stored locally on your device:
- Device Security: You are solely responsible for maintaining the physical and digital security of your device (e.g., using passcodes, biometric locks, and keeping operating system security patches updated).
- Backups: While MoneyMap provides automated and manual backup capabilities to your personal Google Drive, you are responsible for maintaining your Google account access and verifying regular backups. WidgetTree is not liable for data loss resulting from device damage, formatting, or operating system resets without a backup.
3. Permissions & Optional Features
- SMS Transaction Detection (Optional): If you choose to enable the SMS parser, the App scans transactional alerts from whitelisted Indian banks directly on your device. You may disable this permission at any time in Settings.
- Google Drive Integration (Optional): If you enable cloud backup, you authorize the App to store an encrypted backup file (backup.mmbak) in your Google Drive storage. You retain complete ownership over these files.
4. Disclaimer of Financial & Investment Advice
MoneyMap is a financial record-keeping and tracking utility, not a licensed financial advisor, broker, or tax consultant.
- Calculations, charts, net worth projections, stock valuations, and mutual fund analytics displayed in the App are for informational and organizational purposes only.
- Market prices (such as stock bhavcopy and mutual fund NAVs) are retrieved from public endpoints for estimates and may experience delays.
- You should consult a qualified financial professional before making investment, tax, or legal decisions.
5. Intellectual Property
The software, brand name “MoneyMap”, visual designs, logos, animations, and source code are the intellectual property of WidgetTree. You are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal financial management.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WidgetTree and its developers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the App, inaccuracies in parsed SMS figures, or data loss.
7. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service periodically. Updated versions will be published on our website and within the App documentation. Your continued use of MoneyMap following any updates constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
